Late Ven. V.S. Adenugba
Ven. V.S. Adenugba attended Ijebu-ode Grammar School 1950 -1955 and was the senior prefect. He obtained Grade 1 in School Certificate Examination 1955, followed by a B.A. Classics (London) at the University College Ibadan 1961.
He further acquired many more academic laurels, accolades and pastoral postings as follows:
- 1962, Post Graduate course in Education with Distinction in Practical Teaching.
- 1984, I obtained B.D London (Hons) as a private student.
- 1966 – 1977 Principal Apostolic Church Grammar School Orisigun Lagos.
- 1978 – 1981 Principal Baptist Academy Lagos.
- 1981 – 1983 Chief Inspector of Education, Primary, Lagos State.
- 1983 – 1986 Principal Igbobi College Yaba, Lagos.
- August 2nd 1970, I was made a deacon in Lagos Dioceses.
- August 1st 1971, I was priested and attached to All Saints Church Yaba 1971 – !982.
- April 1994, I was preferred a Canon of the Cathedral Church Lagos.
- Preferred Archdeacon and Vicar of St. Judes Ebute Metta and Archdeacon of Ebute-Metta Archdeaconry – 1999.
Venerable Adenugba retired on December 16th 2004 on attaining the statutory age of 70 years.
He got wedded to former Miss Amelia Fanoiki on 31st of August 1963 and is blessed with many children and grand children

Late Mrs A.O. Adenugba (Nee Fanoiki)
Attended Queen’s School Ede in Nigeria 1954 – 1958
NCE – Nigeria Certificate of Education in Mathematics and Chemistry.
Because of her love in Mathematics, she decided to teach Mathematics or Arithmetic. As a student under Mrs. Grace Alele-Williams, she felt she could make Mathematics easy for young children. It was from here that her passion for building up children grew, as she realized that this subject frightened children even though it was the simplest of all subjects.
I am grateful to God that I have been able to make most of my pupils love Maths and see it as a simple subject.
At Mate, learning is made easy to the children and the fear of God has helped both the Nursery and Primary spiritually.
