Welcome to Mate Comprehensive School
History of the School
PREAMBLE:
On the 23rd of April, 1998 was the 5th Anniversary of Emmanuel Anglican Church which is located on part of the land of Mate Nursery / Primary School. The then Archbishop of Lagos, The Most Revd Dr. J.A. Adetiloye was invited to preach the Anniversary Sermon. However, instead of limiting his sermon to the chapel, He seized the opportunity to advise the Proprietor / Proprietress to establish High School. They made frantic effort to acquire a 5 acre of land at Ikorodu, but the initiative could not be established then, so they gave up the idea at that time.
As fate would have it, this demand for them to establish a Secondary School came up repeatedly with pressure from the community and parents of Mate Nursery / Primary School. Thus in 2000, they could not ignore this demand any longer.
Precisely on 4th October, 2000, Mate Comprehensive High School Ketu was formally opened, on 12 Doyin Omololu, Street in a purposely-built building formally occupied by the Primary School as an Annex to the main school.

Our Approach to teenage Education
We pride ourselves in focusing on the individual student because we appreciate the fact that each child is unique. We mould our students to be global citizens therefore we employ a fully integrated international curriculum in our syllabus. For this reason also, our class sizes are limited to a maximum of 20 students. And we place high emphasis on the moral development and excellence through diligence, honesty, discipline, integrity, and respect for others.
Our Location
Located on the heart of a beautiful Regency town of Ketu in Lagos, we have created a nurturing environment where our students benefit from participation in the local community. Our comfortable and homely Boarding and Day houses are walking distance from the college and the student walk regularly to and from, developing a sense of responsibility and independence from an early age.
